Ashes & Brimstone

In a world set 1000 years into the future, the shape and structure of the world has been drastically altered by an event known as the great cataclysm. In this new era, a form of power known simply as "the paths" or "pathways" exists but this power is privy only to the nobles. To possess a Path is to possess power and status. To be born without one is to be nothing. Percival, fourth son of a powerful noble family, knows this well. Unable to walk a Path, he is branded a disgrace and pushed into obscurity. He accepts his fate, living quietly on the fringes of his family’s domain. All that changes as he and everyone in this new world begin to feel the reverberations from the long forgotten cataclysm. And somewhere within the forgotten history of the Cataclysm lies an answer to a question that could bring the entire world to its knees: Why was the world destroyed a thousand years ago? The answer may be waiting for Percival—and when it awakens, the world will remember why it was once afraid.
