Chương 4
Chapter 4: Battle of the Training Mirror - Murasaki vs. Queen Yamauba
Murasaki continued forward through the dense forest until it suddenly opened into a quiet, beautiful shoreline.
Waves rolled gently across the sand.
Standing at the edge of the water-
Her mother.
Queen Yamauba.
Murasaki's face lit up, and she instinctively ran toward her-
But stopped.
Her mother had already drawn her weapon.
Murasaki took a deep breath.
Her expression hardened.
She raised her guard.
Without a word, Queen Yamauba transformed into her full demon ogre form-and in the blink of an eye, she vanished.
CRASH!
Murasaki barely managed to parry the incoming strike.
The force traveled straight through her arms, rattling her to the bone.
Her mother didn't stop.
Strike after strike came relentlessly-fast, heavy, merciless. Murasaki couldn't think, couldn't plan-only react.
Then-
Queen Yamauba raised her weapon.
"Demon Ogre Art: Heavenly Demon Lightning!!!"
A massive bolt of lightning-nearly a mile wide-crashed down toward Murasaki.
There was no time to chant.
No time to think.
It struck her head-on.
Electric agony surged through her entire body-
And before she could recover, Queen Yamauba burst through the lightning itself and kicked her violently into the ground.
The impact shattered the earth beneath her.
Murasaki lay there, barely conscious. Her body was numb. Her vision blurred.
She tried to stand-
But her limbs wouldn't respond.
Is this... my mother... when she doesn't hold back?
Her thoughts trembled.
All those times she sparred with me... that was nothing... just a fraction...
Queen Yamauba walked toward her slowly.
Each step carried killing intent.

Murasaki's breath grew shallow.
Fear crept in.
Then-
A voice echoed in her mind.
"Now you see your mother as she truly is in battle."
Seiryu.
"A merciless warrior who crushes her enemies completely. Even I have heard tales of her strength."
Murasaki clenched her teeth.
"I fail to see your point, Seiryu! If this keeps up, I'm going to die! So unless you have something useful-!"
Seiryu lifted a claw and pointed.
"...Look."
Murasaki followed his gaze.
Her mother.
Unrelenting. Unwavering.
Then-
It clicked.
Like lightning striking her mind.
"...I get it."
She pushed herself up, shaking.
"I've been holding back... not just in battle-but in my own growth."
Her voice steadied.
"I don't want to hurt people... even those trying to hurt me."
She looked up at her approaching mother.
"But if I want to win... if I want to grow..."
Her eyes sharpened.
"...that's a habit I have to break."
Lightning gathered once more above her.
Murasaki stood firm.
"You ready, Seiryu?"
A faint smile echoed in her mind.
"I chose you for a reason."
Her aura surged.
"Then let's win this-and grow stronger together!"
The lightning struck-
And engulfed her completely.
Queen Yamauba turned away, unimpressed.
"...Pathetic."
But then-
A voice stopped her.
Low. Powerful. Different.
"This battle is far from over... Turn around, Queen Yamauba."
A pause.
"I promise... you won't be disappointed~"
The Queen turned.
And smiled.
At last-
A worthy opponent.
Murasaki stood transformed.
Her skin shimmered with silver dragon scales. Her claws and fangs had grown sharper, more feral. Her eyes glowed with a radiant silver-white, now slitted like a dragon's.
From her back, magnificent silver wings unfurled.
Two horns curved from her head.
Her blade pulsed with overwhelming energy.
Her demon ogre power and Seiryu's dragon power had merged into one.
Without hesitation-
She vanished.
CLANG!
Their weapons collided.
Shockwaves rippled across the battlefield.
Thunder roared.
Rain poured.
The sky twisted into a raging storm.
"Demon Ogre Art: Boulder Bullets!!!"
Massive boulders formed around Queen Yamauba and launched forward faster than sound.
Murasaki moved like lightning-dodging, striking, shattering each one with precise punches and kicks.
Then she raised her blade.
"Dragon Style Demon Ogre Art: Earth Lightning Dragon Scale Storm!!!"
Thousands of razor-sharp, lightning-coated fragments rained down toward the Queen.
Yamauba deflected most-
But not all.
Several pierced through her defenses, striking her shoulder and chest.
Silence followed.
Then-
Murasaki dropped to her knees.
Her transformation shattered.
Her body trembled violently.
"That form... it's too much..."
She gasped for air.
"I can only hold it for two minutes... my body can't handle the strain yet..."
Queen Yamauba stepped forward.
Unshaken.
Untouched in spirit.
She raised her blade-
Then suddenly stopped.
She drove it into the ground instead.
Slowly, she reached down... and placed her claw gently against Murasaki's cheek.
A proud smile formed.
"That's my girl."
Her form began to fade.
Murasaki's strength vanished completely.
Her vision went dark.
She collapsed.
The mirror glowed.
Murasaki's body reappeared in the throne room-unconscious.
Madam Mochi snapped her fingers.
Two tanuki medics rushed in, placing her carefully onto a stretcher. With a leaf placed over their heads-
They vanished.
Kuzuno stepped forward in panic-
But Kuroyasha stopped her, smiling softly.
"She's fine. That was the healing wing. She'll recover quickly."
Then-
His expression hardened.
He looked at his mother.
Madam Mochi calmly sipped her sake, a faint smirk on her lips.
"What troubles you, my son?"
Her tone was casual.
"Surely not the training?"
She lowered her cup slightly.
"That girl... half-demon though she may be... possesses tremendous potential."
Her eyes sharpened.
"But if you continue to treat her like someone who always needs protection..."
A pause.
"...she will never grow into a warrior."
Kuroyasha said nothing.
"You saw it yourself."
"She adapted. She evolved. She strengthened her bond with Seiryu and awakened a new form."
Madam Mochi leaned forward.
"This was your lesson as well."
"To trust others."
"To believe in their strength."
Her voice softened-just slightly.
"You may be powerful, my son... but you cannot carry everything alone."
Silence filled the room.
Kuroyasha turned.
And walked away.
Kuzuno started to follow-
"Leave him."
Madam Mochi's voice stopped her.
"We'll see him at dinner."
She stood and approached Kuzuno slowly.
"My son struggles with trust... but you are changing that."
She stopped directly in front of her.
"That said..."
Kuzuno tensed.
"M-Madam Mochi... what are you doing? I feel... a lot of pressure..."
She sniffed slightly.
"...and your sake smells very strong..."
Minoyama smiled.
"Relax, child. I simply wish to look into your mind."
A pause.
"Your power is developing at a rate even I cannot fully understand."
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
"And that... concerns me."
She added calmly,
"This sake is brewed for gods. I would offer you some-but it would not end well for a mortal."
...She can smell it? Interesting...
Kuzuno frowned.
"Why my mind? I don't even understand my own power..."
Her voice trembled.
"Foxes don't use ice magic... no one can teach me this..."
Her emotions surged-
And suddenly-
Ice spread across the throne room.
The temperature dropped rapidly.
Madam Mochi immediately placed her hand on Kuzuno's head.
The ice vanished instantly.
Her expression turned serious.
"I see... Queen Yamauba was right."
"You lost control in seconds."
Her voice was firm.
"As you are now... you are a danger to yourself-and everyone around you."
Kuzuno lowered her head in shame.
Madam Mochi sat in front of her.
"Kuzuno... I am going to enter your mind."
Her tone softened-but remained authoritative.
"Open it to me. The answer lies within you."
Kuzuno hesitated...
Then nodded.
"Good."
Madam Mochi raised her hand.
"Tanuki God Art: River Mindwalking."
